Judge John Moore Currey was originally buried at Laurel Hill, (Lone Mountain) along side a quadrangle of interrelated families (Scott, Currey, Cheesman, Decker),[ p. 29, San Francisco's Laurel Hill, 1940, by Ann Hart] Subsequently, in 1939-1940, Laurel Hill -Lone Mountain was closed and bodies were moved to Cypress Lawn Cemetery in Colma, California. At that time, the family believe that his body was cremated and the ashes were returned to them. However, at present, no one knows to whom in the family the ashes were given nor where the ashes are.
